It has been a wonderful few weeks as we have got to know our new Knitting For All teacher, Kelly Macdonald. Kelly lives in Aviemore and will be teaching Kids Knit, YPK and Knit Night & Day classes in Aviemore, Grantown and Kingussie. She has already organised a busy timetable of classes so check out her page for further details. Kelly will be chuffed to bits if you'd like to email her to book in, or just to wish her all the best for her exciting new business!

I'm so looking forward to this event - it's going to be such fun! I'm going to be working with Juliet from Honey Pot (which will be half the fun of it!) to teach lots of lovely kiddies how to make felted soap. Juliet is going to get everyone making the soap first. You can choose a lovely fragrance and colour and make it really personal and special to you. And then I'm going to show everyone how to cover it with beautiful merino wool. It makes for quite an unusual bar of soap! A very pretty accessory in the bathroom - and practical too. It gently exfoliates and rubs off ingrained dirt, while producing a lovely lather. Fabulous!
If you fancy coming along, this is what you need to know...

Knitting For All/Kids Knit: Winner of Best Primary School Class
Voters comments…
My daughter started knitting at the Kid's Knit summer school last summer and we couldn't believe what she could produce at the end of a week! She has loved her weekly class in Corstorphine, learning new skills, meeting new people - it's an hour and a half of peace from her brother and she's SO proud of what she produces. Kerry is fantastic with all the class who are at different levels and need varying degrees of help. Would definitely recommend for any age!
The Kids Knit classes have been hugely beneficial to both my son and daughter and I have seen their confidence and creativity grow as they learnt new skills, felt the pride of making many beautiful original items and made friends. The enthusiasm, teaching skills and warmth of Kerry Kimber have made a real contribution to my children's quality of life! I would recommend Kids Knit to every parent and child!

Learning to knit with all your mates is tremendous fun and wonderful for friendship bonding! Having a club at your child's school has the added bonus of cutting down on Mum's/Dad's "taxi services" as they can usually go straight to Kids Knit at the end of the school day. Whether you are a teacher or a parent, if you are interested in organising a Kids Knit after school club at your school, please call Kerry on 07943 367314. Classes can be tailored to fit in with any existing after school arrangements at your school.
Kids Knit provides exciting and imaginative knitting classes for boys and girls aged 5-11. Knitting encourages creativity, increases ability to concentrate, is beneficial to maths skills and induces relaxation. And it’s a wonderfully satisfying hobby with endless possibilities for the creative imagination.
